The title is revised from which written on a red label affixed to the verso of the map. Scale and legend are not given; orientation is marked along the borders on all four sides with north at the bottom. The map covers both banks of Ou River estuary in Wenzhou Prefecture, and islands outside the port of Wenzhou. The map uses pictorial depictions of prefectural capital, defense military posts, mountains, islands and temples. All place names are annotated. Red and yellow graphic lines are boundary markers for neighboring regiments.

Wenzhou Division was established in the 13th year of Qing Shunzhi’s reign, 1656, governing nine brigades or regiments. The map shows the Yuhuan Sub-prefecture, which was Yuhuan Regiments before the six year of Yongzheng 1728. Based on the explanatory text recorded beside the red lines, the Wenzhou Middle and Left Regiments have already extended their jurisdiction over the sea; a change happened in the ninth year of Qing Yongzheng’s reign, 1731. The map may have been drawn after that.
