Title is revised from which written on a red label. Scale, legend, and orientation are not given; however, north is at the bottom, judging from locations on the map. Taiping County is under the jurisdiction of Taizhou Prefecture, Zhejiang Province. Taiping County is surrounded by the sea on three sides and is located 140 li southeast of the prefectural seat. The map depicts geographic features with traditional pictorial images, including cities and towns, garrisons, training fields, patrol passes, and hills. Taiping Regiment is under the jurisdiction of Huangyan Division and was established in the eighth year of Kangxi’s reign, 1669. Military posts are marked, accompanied with annotations to describe military officers, soldiers, and boundaries. This is a typical officially made military post map. Taiping Regiment and officers’ names are written on the map. The map may have been drawn after the 22nd year of Qing Daoguang’s reign, 1842.
