The title is missing; the title applied here is based on content. Scale and legend are not given; orientation is marked along the borders on all four sides with north at the bottom. Neighboring counties such as Dinghai, Yin, and Zhenhai are indicated. The capital town of Fenghua County is depicted with pictorial images; military posts and temples with symbols. All military posts under different brigades are further described with annotations. Many yellow labels are affixed to the map to record mileages.
The map focuses on military defense and is an official military map. This map may have been drawn at the time between the other two “Military Map of Fenghua County” (Add MS. 16359 (H) and Maps 188.kk.1 (7)) in the British Library’s collection. The three maps are almost identical in contents except the map with shelfmark Add. MS. 16359 (H) does not depict the capital town of Fenghua County. The yellow labels on this map are less than the map with shelfmark Maps 188.kk.1 (7). These three maps may have been drawn during Daoguang period, 1821-1841.
