Title is written on a yellow label affixed to the verso of the map. Cixi County seal is stamped on the bottom of the same side. Scale and legend are not given; orientation is marked along the borders on all four sides with north pointed to the bottom right corner. The map depicts the prefectural capitals, county capitals, mountains, islands, and administrative divisions pictorially. The map covers Zhenhai County of Ningbo Prefecture to the defensive posts at Hangzhou Bay in Zhapu town area, including Longshan, Guanhai, and Linshan towns, as well as several military posts and seawalls. Place names, islands, and battalion locations are annotated and clearly identified. This is an official coastal defense map. Based on the administrative names appeared on the map, it may have been drawn after mid-Qianlong period, 1752.
