The map expands from right to left and shows the Yellow River flowing from the west upstream to the east downstream. North is at the bottom and orientations are marked along the river. The map covers the area from the junction of Huangqingting and Shangbeiweiliangting in the west to the junction of Shangbeiweiliangting and Xiangheting in the east. The map depicts Shangbeiweiliangting of Hebei Province and the location of fortifications and fascine construction on the north shore. The Yellow River is represented in red. The map also shows the cities, towns, and temples from Yangwu to Fengqiu County. Red labels pasted at the top of Fengqiu County indicate the length of fascine construction before this project.
