No title appears on this map; the title applied here is based on content. This is a distribution map of river dams, seawalls, harbors and some military deployment under the jurisdiction of Yancheng County in Huai’an Prefecture between port Dowlong and Xinyang. Scale and legend are not given; orientation are written on red labels pasted along the four directions and north is at the bottom. The map covers the area from the Yellow Sea in the east to Gangmen Town, which is 18 li from the Yancheng county seat, in the west; from Funing County in the north to Xinghua County in the south. Yancheng was situated in the Lixiahe plain in the eastern coastal region of the northern Jiangsu Province. Fangong embankment marked on the map runs from Liuzhuang Sluice in the south to Tianfei Sluice in the north, about 18,000 Zhang in length.        
        
There are another 11 red labels affixed to the map indicating water sea levels, boat routes, distances to the county town, and military deployment. The map may have been drawn during the 15th and the 23rd of Daoguang’s reign, 1835-1840.
