No title appears on this atlas; the title is supplied by the British Library. The atlas covers jurisdictions under the Xiangshan Navy Brigade and consists of 51 maps. Thirty maps have subtitles. There is no expressed scale or legend. The atlas was like a collection of realistic watercolor paintings. Orientation was not given; some maps adopted the “Heavenly Stems and Earthly Branches attribution table and the Eight Diagrams”. On these sheets, orientations depend on the travelers’ perspectives viewed from waterways towards the land.
