The map expands from right to left and shows the Yellow River flowing from the west upstream to the east downstream. North is at the bottom. The map covers the area from the junction of Guangwu Mountain in the west to the border of Zhongmu County in the east.
The map depicts Shangnanheting and the location of fortifications and fascine construction on the south shore from Yingyang County to Zhongmu County. The Yellow River is colored in yellow, but the color is faded. There are four red labels pasted on the map to identify construction sites. Red notes also describe fascine construction and project length. The labels are with official red seals in both Manchu and Chinese.
